It is challenging for King of Prussia-based Sun & Earth, a 20-year old natural cleaning products manufacturer, to measure the impact the digital media (sites like twitter, facebook, and YouTube) has on the organization. There are ways, if you have the resources and an understanding of these "tools". At this point, S&E is becoming increasingly knowledgeable in social media with tremendous support and assistance from friend Sara F. (of Chester County Moms) and the guidance of friend Dave Almacy (of Edelman). Larger organizations have teams of workers dedicated to identifying influential digital media "resources" and by utilizing the reach of these "resources" are able to remain/become relevant and ultimately influence/affect the experiences/decisions of the consumer.
Sun & Earth, with tremendous support from Sarah, our Digital Technology/Social Media Liaison (who works for less than 10 ounces per hour of our All Purpose Cleaner...an unbelievable bargain) has made tremendous strides over the past few months recognizing and utilizing the value and excitement of the social media with its ever-increasing "fan" base.
